Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento-Elk Grove Laguna I-5

We were there last week for a couple of nights. Nice location and surrounding areas; (except there brief foul smell in one morning outside in the parking lot). The night guest service staff were attentive and friendly enough to make us feel welcome there. Breakfast was good, we had no complaints. Thanks for the 24-hour coffee servicing table; NICE to have. Rooms could have some upgrades; for example, the bathtub has a crack on one wall and the tub floor was Not clean to our standards. There was only one small hand soap and not enough facial tissue paper. By the way, previously used soap was still in the soap holder which we had to throw it out ourselves. Some noises at night from the upstairs unit due to people walking heavily as well as the next-door room with a kid crying that we could hear on the other side where our headboard is. The breakfast room is spacious and comfortable enough to share with other guests. However, one of the blinds was broken, and that made the room look a bit run-down. The elevators are old and make a very loud noise when the doors shut and open. Kind of smells bad inside the elevator. They need to be cleaned thoroughly and daily including all buttons, the inside walls, and floors.

Stayed here for a family reunion. Reserved a King "Suite", which was the same regular hotel room as the others in our group with maybe an extra 6 feet of space and a desk. The King bed was supplied with four "standard" pillows, possibly smaller than "standard" and as hard a concrete blocks. The bed was by far the most uncomfortable hotel bed, in which I've slept (or in this case, TRIED to sleep) in more than 30 years of travel. The halls of floor 2 smell like cat urine, as did our room. Only one elevator functioning with strict warnings of number limits on the number of people riding. Why are their elevators not fixed and running, this hotel seemed to be at full capacity. ONE elevator only (slow as well, took well over 5 minutes of waiting In a four floor building!). The prices this establishment charges for their rooms is borderline criminal for the lack of quality and service as advertised online. Seems we would have had significantly better accommodations at nearby establishments from looking at those while here. I am disappointed that Hilton would certify this location with its problems and terrible condition. One would be advised to avoid this Hampton Inn/Hilton property at all costs. Seriously overpriced and an absolutely miserable 5 days. We could hear and feel EVERY door close near us on floors above and below. As well as constant talking/chattering/banging noises. Complimentary breakfast was worse than a high school cafeteria food, according to one of our group (and the rest of us as well). Stay well away from this place, their prices are outrageous for the extremely substandard conditions of this location. The Hilton brand should be ashamed. *UPDATE NOTE: Added one more star to Staff and Serivce Staff and one star to overall because of Staff and Service Staff. My review is not at all reflective of the staff, we only encounter friendly helpful people. It was the physical facility with which my issues reside.
